The second largest city in Czech;Brno

Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic which is located in the southeast of the country. Brno is the capital of the South Moravian Region.As of December 2009 the population is 405,337. Brno is a major center of modern architecture in the whole world.

Bucovice Palace

Bucovice Palace hides its treasures well, for it is the interior of this palace where many surprises are in store for the visitor compared to the outside. The main excitment is the interior courtyard. This courtyard has 90 columns and 540 relief carvings. Also in the courtyard is a carved fountain done in the mannerist style. Bucovice palace owners claim it is one of the most beautiful fountains in all of Europe, visitors can make their own assessment.The interior of the palace was decorated in the late 16th Century and is very well preserved. The Renaissance garden is behind the palace and it is worth a visit as it is very well done with hedges and trees shaped in fascinating designs.

Villa Tugendhat

This modernist landmark is an outstanding example of the international architectural style that happened between the years of 1928-1930.This sight is part of the UNESCO monument of modern architecture. This glass-fronted villa set on a grassy slope is the very first monument of modern architecture in the Czech Republic. Since it is part of UNESCO it would be a great sight to visit while in Brno.

Reduta Theatre

The Reduta Theatre is a theatre situated in Brno on the citys oldest square. It is now part of the National Theatre in Brno, it is the oldest theatre in Central Europe. There are many shows and concerts that take place in this theatre. Make sure you look into an entertaining show when you are visiting Brno.
